Synonymous with festivals, this is made very frequently as prasad ( an offering to the deities).

  • In a little ghee, lightly fry the nuts and keep aside.

  • Heat a heavy-bottomed pan. Add the wheat flour and roast on a low flame. When it starts changing colour, add 4 tbsp ghee and keep roasting it, stirring continuously on a low flame until a delicious aroma emanates. The colour will be a little darker by now. This takes 8 to 10 minutes.

  • Take out in a flat dish to cool. Add the powdered sugar and nuts only when it is cool to touch.

  • Mix well. Decorate with almonds and a couple of tulasi leaves.

  • Roast on low flame.

  • Add sugar only when it is cool to touch. You dont want it to melt.
