A sweet & sour ripe mango curry with coconut

Main Ingredients

  • Method

    1. Cook the mangoes with turmeric, red chilli powder and salt. Be careful to not overcook them.

  • 2. Grind the grated coconut with red chilies and cumin seeds.

  • 3. Mix this into the cooked mango with a little water and boil water for a minute.

  • 4. Reduce the flame to a simmer.

  • 5. Mix the beaten curd into the curry stirring all the time without bringing to a boil. Remove from fire.

  • 6. Tadka - In a little oil splutter mustard seeds, curry leaves, fenugreek seeds and dry red chillis. Season curry with this.

  • 7. Serve warm with steamed rice. Serves 3-4 people.
