Onam special from my Malayali friend!

  • In a pressure cooker combine the wheat, water, and jaggery and pressure cook on medium heat for 3-4 min. Release pressure. Mix well and add the cardamom powder and the coconut milk.

  • In a shallow pan heat the ghee and stir fry the coconut slices until slightly browned. Add these coconut slices to the prepared dish. Mix well. The payasam is ready.
