    Boil water in a pot and bring it to full boil, add salt.

  • Take the pot off the heat and slowly add the maize, whisking all the while.

  • Cover and leave on low heat to cook for about 15 mins.

  • For the relish

    Begin by frying the meat (if it’s being used) in the oil till well done. Add some salt

  • Add onions and carrot, fry till tender.

  • Add tomatoes and stir until dry.

  • Add kale/spinach, garlic, oregano, pounded peanuts, salt, and pepper. Cook on low heat till the greens have released all their water.

  • Serve hot. Some hot sauce always goes well with it
